Samoens, Haute-Savoie, France
Samoens is a charming old farming village nestled at the heart of a great glacial valley. The only French ski resort to be listed as a historical site, it retains the friendly charm of an ancient market town, still strongly influenced by its farming and masonary traditions
The impressive Grand Massif mountain range surrounds the valley. In winter Samoens, along with Flaine, Morillon and Les Carroz, join together to form “ Domaine du Grand Massif”.
With the introduction of the new “Grand massif Express” lift in December 2003, Samoens village is now only 8 mins from the slopes. From a starting altitude of 700 metres, skiers have rapid access to one of the largest ski areas in Europe. Add to this Samoens close proximity with Geneva airport just over 50 mins drive away, and the motorway Blanc passing within 15kms of Samoens, getting here could not be easier.
The planning and architecture of Samoens has been carefully considered over the past few years. The expansion has allowed the village to welcome and cater for a wide range of guests, providing tourists with activities and past times that they can enjoy in a beautiful natural landscape.
Samoens is a village, not just a ski resort , so is busy and vibrant all year round; With an impressive range of restaurants, cafes and bars catering to all tastes as well as a widely varying selection of shops and other amenities.
Samoens has something to offer everyone whether your seeking adventure or just sheer relaxation. Together with our Coveyski team you can pick and choose the holiday that suits you best.
